We will recognise the need for toddlers to become more independent. The room is well equipped with resources for quiet as well as physical play. There will be messy play as well as creative activities. The emphasis will be on learning through play. The children will have access to the outside play area where they will be able to play on the bikes, cars or enjoy the themed gardens. There will be opportunities to dig, splash in puddles or to sit and watch! A well planned fun filled day will be our aim for our toddlers. Welly boots would be useful now.(thanks)
Sharing books, stories, music, nursery rhymes and action rhymes will also be part of the day.
Mattresses will be provided for children who need a nap during the day. In this room we have a separate small area with potties. With discussion with families we will undertake potty training.
In this room nappies, formula milk (if child on formula) and a change of clothes will be required. During potty training more than one spare pair of pants!!
Children will be following a conventional meal programme in this room. Staff will have records of dietary requirements.
The record book will keep families informed of children’s diets and activities during the day.
