THE DINING ROOM

We are very proud to be able to offer children a separate dining experience.  It provides an opportunity for all of the age ranges to come together to chat and enjoy their meals.

THE PRE-SCHOOL

Children in this room start to play as part of a group. Stories are told or read to groups as well as to individuals.

The Foundation Stage curriculum is used for planning play based activities. The emphasis is that learning is fun and stimulating. Children are beginning to recognise their own names and are able to take ownership of their property.

There is full access to the outside. Bikes, taxi bikes and scooters are available for outdoor play. There is access to the themed gardens and wellies are a must.

Our pre-school children are heavily involved with the up keep of our vegetable garden, which often produces vegetables in sufficient quantities to feed the whole nursery – well done children!

Children are now making choices for their own activities. Children’s ideas for future play activities are welcomed and encouraged. There are opportunities for problem solving.

Children are encouraged to interact with the younger children in the Nursery, handing out fruit or putting on a little show for the younger children etc.

Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their own hygiene, washing hands, using toilet independently and of course they are encouraged to clean their teeth after meals. Please provide a toothbrush and toothpaste, thanks. At the end of each session the practitioner will give a verbal account of your childs experiences, there is also a written daily sheet recording what has been eaten, etc Ask the office to tell you about the DAILY CONNECT ap that is available so all of this information can go straight to your iphone, android or email.

The progress your child makes at The Day Nursery is recorded in a Learning Journey and is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. You can ask to view this and an appointment will be made for you to do so.

THE HALL

Ratio 1:4

We recognise the need for toddlers to become more independent. The room is well equipped with resources for quiet as well as physical play. There is messy play as well as creative activities. The emphasis is on learning through play.

The children have access to the outside play area where they are able to play on the bikes, cars or enjoy the themed gardens. There are opportunities to dig, splash in puddles or to sit and watch! A well planned fun filled day is our aim for our toddlers. Welly boots would be useful now thanks.

Sharing books, stories, music, nursery rhymes and action rhymes are also part of the day.

Little beds are provided for children who need a nap. In this room we have a separate small area for nappy changes. When your child is ready to potty train we have a large toilet where your child can choose from a selection of potties or the toilet fitted with a child seat. During potty training please bring more than one spare pair of pants!!

At the end of each session the practitioner will give a verbal account of your childs experiences, there is also a written daily sheet which records sleeps, what’s been eaten, nappy changes etc. Ask the office to tell you about the DAILY CONNECT ap that is available so all of this information can go straight to your iphone, android or email. THE BABY ROOM

This room has stimulating resources to encourage the child’s natural curiosity. Books form part of their daily routine. Singing games and nursery rhymes are planned into the day. There are blankets for the babies to crawl on outside as well as having a ride in a push chair. Cots are available in the room. Our qualified staff will follow your routines as far as possible.

The planned activities follow the Early Years Foundation stage guidelines. And of course we will love your child almost as much as you do.
